Long term shelter support

FISCH believes that wherever it is possible it is best to support children to live with relatives, rather than placing them in institutionalised care.

As such, the FISCH employees work hard to identify if children have living relatives living nearby, and seeks to reunite them.

In some cases, families are supported through the provision of monthly food parcels, which enables the child to remain living with their relatives rather than seeking food on the street.

If a relative cannot be found, or the situation does not lend itself to such a solution, host families are sought whereby a child can be supported and provided with safe shelter and care.
